Best Credit Card
There's a sea of credit card offers out there, but how do you know which one is the best credit card for you? It's really simple. It just depends on your wants and needs.
Simply the Best...
Different people are going to have different definitions of what the best credit card is. People who travel a lot might think the best credit card offers lots of airfare rewards. Small business owners may consider rewards on airfare, hotel and rental cards essential. Others want cash back or gift cards to favorite stores and restaurants, while some just want low interest rates and no annual fees. In a perfect world, a credit card company would offer all of these things in one card with no annual fee. However, we don't live in a perfect world, so if you want rewards, you generally have to pay an annual fee. Before you sign up, make sure the annual fee doesn't cover the amount of the gift card. For instance, paying an annual fee of anywhere from $30-$65 for a card that gives you a gift card for $50 to your favorite store or restaurant isn't much of a tradeoff. However, someone who flies a lot over the course of a year might consider that a small price to pay in lieu of a round-trip ticket somewhere--as long as the round-trip ticket normally costs a lot more than $150-$200.
...Better Than All the Rest
Some credit card companies are offering 0% introductory interest rates, and low interest after that. All with no fee! That's excellent for rate shoppers who don't care about rewards. It's especially nice for people who want to transfer balances from higher interest rate cards so they can try to pay it all off before the introductory rates end. However, some credit card companies charge a balance transfer fee that's usually around 3%, so again, you have to look at the amount you're transferring and determine if the balance transfer will be worth it.
The best part of all of this is that we have a wide world of options available to us when it comes to credit cards these days. And that means that the consumer wins. Shop around until you find the best credit card rate for your credit history and spending needs. Taking your time will ensure that you find the card that will also provide you with the rewards program that will give you the most back for the purchases that you make on a daily basis.
